About Me

My photo
I am a mother of two great and very different little girls and a wife of a great man. We try to live our lives to glorify God. Hendersonville, TN (just north of Nashville)is where we call home. John and I both love SEC football...just two different teams. Baseball is my favorite, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. We both cherish those close to us and strive to love God to our best ability daily.

One Month

It is hard to believe that our baby girl has hit her 1 month mark (last week actually). I took her to her 1 month appointment yesterday. She was 8 lbs 13 oz (29%), 21 1/4 inches (47%). She has gained a pound since she was born, but you wouldn't be able to tell b/c she is still in newborn EVERYTHING and that is usually to big. This girl has no fat on her at all just yet.

Here are some pics I took of her (I included the 1 week and 2 week just for comparison.)

Smiling at Mommy

Laughing at Mommy

Things you are doing now:
  • Smiling all the time (but you have always been a smiler).
  • Beginning to hold your head up.
  • Becoming more attentive to noises around you.
  • Recognizing mommy and daddy's voices and looking towards us when we talk.
  • Always moving around (Grandma Laney says you are going to be rolling over in no time).
  • Putting some weight on your legs when we stand you up.
  • Eating like a champ. You down your 4 oz bottle pretty quick.
  • Starting to make noises and "talk".
  • Sucking on your fingers all the time...esp. your forefinger.

Merry Christmas

We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas. I think everyone has received their Christmas Card by now, so I am posting it on here (click to make it bigger). I just LOVE them. I took the pic and then had them designed on etsy.com. I didn't have the time to do it myself.

Things have been busy around here and we have been doing alot of traveling to and from Arkansas. John's grandfather passed away. He will be missed terribly, but has gone on to be with his Heavenly Father and to live in paradise forever. We will one day see him again.

There is alot of catch up posting to do..so stay tuned.

Kelsey Meets Santa

We have been blessed to have help the first couple of weeks Kelsey was here. My mom, dad and brother were here the first week and John's parents were here last week. Today was my first day alone with her. We did great....but that isn't the reason for this post.

While John's parents were here this past weekend, we decided it would be good to get out of the house for a while. We were brave enough to attempt the MALL on Saturday. It was very busy, but we got some shopping done. We bout one Christmas gift, John's parent's bought us a few things for Christmas, I got a couple of tops (for my post-pregnancy self) and the best....

KELSEY MET SANTA (at only 1 week and 5 days old).

How cute is this picture...she slept through the whole thing. :-)

I have more pictures of course...like her at 1 week and then again today at 2 weeks (I can't believe we are already there). Maybe they will come tomorrow night.

Also, we went to the doc today for her 2 week weight check. She is almost back to birth weight..just one more ounce to go. Her doc said that she looked perfect (we already knew that though). So Mommy is happy.

Kelsey's First Day

I am finally getting to posting the rest of the hospital pics. There are others from home that I need to post, but that will be another day. It is hard to believe that we have been home for more than a week now. We have had family here so far..what a blessing to have company and help!
Well on to the pictures....

Somehow Daddy managed to sneak in this Arkansas hat and put it on here.
He looks a little proud!!

Great grandparents (minus Papa - who is there.....just not in the pic)

My family celebrates Thanksgiving the night before. So we set up Skype so that we could introduce our little girl.
What did anyone do before computers and the interwebs????

Going Home

We were so happy to be able to come home on Thanksgiving (I guess there will always be a little extra celebration going forward). AND it was a day early.

Mom (aka Mimi) and I getting Kelsey dressed.

How cute am I in my outfit from Mimi!?!

Right before we walked out.

Kelsey Lynn

Most of you already know by now, but our little girl is here!!!

After being induced on Monday and a lack of progress, we had a c-section that night. I (and John) were surprised at how quickly the day actually went by. Kelsey Lynn was born 11/23 @ 9:23 p.m. She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She is perfectly healthy and beautiful.

We are all doing well and will be going home tomorrow (Thanksgiving). Which is a day early! So happy that we don't have to spend our WHOLE Thanksgiving in the hospital. We are so blessed to have this joy in our lives to add to our "thankful for list" this year.

Just moments after being born.

The first picture of our family...I look a little out of it b/c I kinda was. I was exhausted!

Daddy changing his first diaper! :-)

There will be many more pictures later...I have to get them all in order.
Thank you to everyone who has called/emailed/texted. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

There are updates....

....I just haven't wanted to sit down and put them up. We are still waiting on the arrival of our little girl. But we won't have to wait past Monday the 23rd. We do have an end in site. However, she of course could still come on her own. I don't really "feel" like that is going to happen, but what do I know...I have NEVER done this before.

We go back to the doc tomorrow afternoon for a couple of routine tests, just to make sure she is still doing ok. There will be more then...including some pics from the 40 week mark (which was this past Friday.) So we are now due date (or DD as John says) +4 - almost 5. :-)

Nursery

The nursery has been done for a few weeks, but I am just now getting around to posting the pictures.
There is ALOT of pink and I LOVE IT!!!!

Crib and Glider
My mom did the dust ruffle and bows for the bumper. So cute!!!

Window - Curtains by my Mom too
And you can see the PACKED diaper bag for the hospital and her coming home dress.
The time is really coming. :-)

Closet - I should have taken a pic of the inside (this girl is going to be stylin' in all her clothes).
Dresser - also full
Lamp - I did the shade - my contribution since my mom did so much other stuff.

Changing Table
Also her name on the door...from my first shower here in STL

So we are all ready...as far as we know anyway. I am sure that there is something we missed, but for now we think we are ready.

Any guesses on when she will be here....maybe I should start a pool! :-)

Prep for Kelsey

Johnny doing his part. :-)
These are from a few weeks ago, but Johnny put everything together. Some items were easier than others, but non the less...they are all together and ready for Kelsey to use.

Here are the most recent "belly" pics from this past weekend. 38 weeks and counting....

Happy Halloween!!!

We were able to dress up today at work. Basically I wanted to be as comfortable as possible. I decided to go with just black yoga pants and an orange shirt. As I was walking out the door...this idea came to me and I grabbed some scrapbook paper. The baby belly pumpkin was a big hit and got lots of laughs.

Today marks 38 weeks...that leaves on TWO left until our due date. I can't believe it. As of Sunday (November 1st) we will be able to say we will have a baby THIS month. WOW...our little girl will be here before we know it. :-)

My final shower (#4) with my family....

Yes...we are VERY blessed to have so many people who love us!!! This is shower # 4 for Kelsey and the last. Granted it was almost 4 weeks ago, but I am non-the-less getting the pictures up for your viewing pleasure.

Here are all my female cousins. I loved that they all were able to be there!!
