About Me

My photo
I am a mother of two great and very different little girls and a wife of a great man. We try to live our lives to glorify God. Hendersonville, TN (just north of Nashville)is where we call home. John and I both love SEC football...just two different teams. Baseball is my favorite, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. We both cherish those close to us and strive to love God to our best ability daily.

Father's Day

Yes, a little past due!

Kelsey was sick the entire week before Father's Day, so we took the opportunity to get out of the house. She still wasn't 100%, but we were all a little stir crazy at this point.

We went to a sub shop and got sandwiches and took them to a local park. After lunch we let K play for a little while. She had a blast. She was so happy to be outside and to get to play after being inside for a week.

Swinging is lots of fun!

This is the best picture we got for Father's Day. She wasn't having it.

Happy Bday Graham

This post is from June, but I am trying to catch up.

Our really good friends, Chad and Julie, had their son's first bday at the park. We were so excited to be able to celebrate with them! Graham is such a good little boy and we love him very much. The party was Mickey Mouse themed and so cute! Kelsey enjoyed it and it was fun to see her around some other kiddos. She acts like a big kid when around them.

Graham didn't know what to think about the cake, but I love this pic of his lip!

There was a little water park/feature at the park. Kelsey, of course, LOVED it. This child would play in water ALL DAY LONG if she could. The pool has become a must on the weekends this summer!

The fountains would come and go. This one was off and K was confused. Right about that time it came back on and she got it. She just laughed and kept running around.

Random Happenings...

Kelsey's favorite things lately....

Mommy's high heels...really any shoes, but this one is the cutest!

Mommy's bracelets. This is almost an every morning thing now.

Popsicles! This was when she was very sick. This was the ONLY thing to make her smile.

Coloring...she loves it. I just got her a magnad**dle at a consignment sale that is a huge hit!

We love the park!

Kelsey would just play and run all day if we let her. But there does come a time where we have to go home.

Playing at the Park

John's parents came a couple of weeks ago after they had a trip to Iowa. We were happy to have them here and took advantage of the great weather that weekend. We went to the park on Saturday afternoon for a picnic and some play time. Kelsey even learned how to smell the flowers while we were there.

Just b/c I like the picture

This girl loves to slide and has NO fear!

Easter 2011

Not only was this weekend Easter and my parents were up here to spend it with us, but I feel like Kelsey grew by 2 years!! She learned so much over the past few days. Her vocabulary is booming (mine, bite, hop, done, oh no, sshh, choo choo, up(ie)). She is climbing on everything! She is also starting to put stuff together. A good friend of mine watched her on Monday and brought her 4 month old. Kelsey would say Sshh and baby when the baby was asleep. She also now knows one of her night time books and says night night as we turn the pages. WOW! She is getting so smart.

So my parents were her for the weekend. They got her just in time for the storms/tornado on Friday night. Luckily the tornado was north of us and we didn't get any damage, but lots of people did including the airport. Craziness! I am fine with storms but throw the word tornado in there and I am not so ok anymore. I guess it is those 4 years living in Jackson, TN during college and experiencing all the tornadoes that we did that is to blame for that one.

Friday night John and I went to our Good Friday service at church while Mom and Dad watched Kelsey. She was excited to see them and of course they were her as well. We came home and just hung out with my parents for a little bit.

Saturday we went to ToysRu$ to get Kelsey's Easter present from my parents (Mimi & Grandaddy). You will see photos below. OH!!! That was only after the laundry fiasco!!! I will have to save that one for another post. So after the toy store, the guys came home and mom and I went a couple more places to shop. Mom bought me a bathing suit for our beach trip in a few weeks!!! That evening we went to dinner here in Kirkwood. We tried a new place and it was yummy! Then Karl & Kat came over. There were here to visit Kat's family. It was good to catch up with the for a little bit (and without the kiddos - K was already in bed and Nate stayed at Kat's parents).

Sunday we got up and K got her Easter basket (pics below). We all got ready and headed to church a little early for a pancake breakfast. The breakfast was to help raise money for a mission trip to Kenya that some of our church family is going on. After church Mom and Dad headed back to TN so that Dad could make the Predator$ game that evening.

We had a great weekend and were very blessed to be able to spend the weekend celebrating with family. Easter is always such a special time b/c of the reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us in dying on the cross. BUT the best part is that is did not JUST DIE, BUT ROSE AGAIN!! He is alive and lives with us today. Praise God for the promise of Christ and one day living with him in Heaven.

Here are some photos...

Photo Shoot #1278

If you know me at all you know that I love to take photos. Now that we have a kiddo, I like to take them even more b/c she is so dang cute and deserves to be photographed all the time. So....one day after church we took K outside for some photo time. Her dress was too cute not too. Why Mom?

I enjoy my thumb

Look at this!

Sharing some photos

First, Kelsey is a TORNADO! She is able to make this mess in less than 30 seconds. I suppose that it could partially be blamed on us as well since we allow her to have this much stuff. Note: this is only 1/4 of our living room. The rest was just as messy.

This was few weeks ago. We had gone to Chick-fil-@ for dinner. John was going to be watching basketball that night. So, I dropped him and K at the house and went to the RedB*x at the W@llgreens to get a movie. I was home in less than 5 min and Kelsey had fallen asleep in John's lap. SHE NEVER DOES THIS!!! So he took advantage of it and held her for a while and then passed her to me. We both LOVED it. :-)
