About Me

My photo
I am a mother of two great and very different little girls and a wife of a great man. We try to live our lives to glorify God. Hendersonville, TN (just north of Nashville)is where we call home. John and I both love SEC football...just two different teams. Baseball is my favorite, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. We both cherish those close to us and strive to love God to our best ability daily.

4 months

People always told me that time flew by when you had kids and I thought how could that be. Well they were right. I can NOT believe that our baby girl is 4 months old (or was last week). She has been such a joy and we enjoy our lives with her.

It is VERY hard to get a picture without her hands in her mouth! :-)

this just made me laugh....i don't really know what to call it.

Kelsey at 4 months:
- You weigh almost 12 lbs (we will find out for sure at your doc appt this week).
- You are eating 4 bottles a day @ 8 oz each. Cereal may be in your near future.
- You continue to sleep through the night. Every now and then you will wake up and we will have to put you in your swing, but that only happens about once a week. You even "sleep in" on Saturday and Sunday for us. Such a smart little girl!!! :-)
- You are still wearing your 0-3 month clothes, but are beginning to get into some of the 3-6 month stuff....slowly.
- You LOVE your hands and always have them in your mouth. In fact you would rather have your fingers than your paci most times. You have also found your thumb, but it isn't something you do often yet.
- You are in size one diapers.
- You have a bald spot on the back of your head (that mommy hates), but it is from sleeping in your crib on your back. It is beginning to move around to the side of your head, b/c you like to sleep on one side of your head now too.
- You have gotten to an independent stage (already) and would rather us lay you in your crib to fall asleep than us rock you. This makes mommy and daddy sad as rocking you to sleep was one of their favorite things to do (we would even argue over who got to do it sometimes).
- You SMILE ALL THE TIME!!! You are still a very happy baby and love to smile and it is contagious!!
- You always want to be sitting up and looking around. It won't be long before you can do it yourself.
-You are getting really good at moving around when we lay you down. You will turn in a complete circle when you are laying on your back. And if one your tummy you can scoot just a little.
- You are really good at pulling your legs up under you when on your tummy. We can wait a little bit for you to crawl though. :-)
- You are SO CLOSE to turning over, but just can't seem to get your arm out of the way. When you are on your back you pull your legs up to your tummy and turn on your side....you are almost there!!
- You continue to bring so much happiness into our home and we love you so very much!!!

Kelsey's Dedication

Our parents and my brother and his fiance came to STL for Kelsey's dedication a couple of weeks ago. We spent Saturday shopping and watching a little bit of basketball (the guys more than the girls). Then Sunday we went to church. After the service we had our family and some friends over for lunch. We are so very blessed by such awesome people in our lives. Kelsey is going to have so many good influences in her life. Praise God for friends and family that believe in HIM and will help in teaching Kelsey too!!

I there are 4 people that are wrapped around her finger!!!

Praying for Kelsey at the service

at the house after...we waited a little too long to take pics and Kelsey was getting hungry

Andy's Shower for Weston

One of my best friends in life (seriously friendship started in elementary school) is having a baby boy in April. Just a few weeks away now!!! So excited for Andrea and Derrick. They are going to be great parents to baby Weston. She is doing his nursery in Peter Rabbit...so what better theme for the shower!! It was SO ADORABLE!!

Decor that Miss Kim provided!!!

Kelsey at the shower...she was so fussy.
There was too much going on and she wouldn't go to sleep.

You can't take country out of the girl!!

3 Months

This was a few weeks ago, but at least I am posting them. :-)

We can't believe that our little girl is growing so fast. She is still a VERY good baby. We even got through our first sickness this week and she wasn't too bad. Fussy yes, but would take her medicine with out a problem and still slept and ate. We are SO BLESSED to have this little girl with us. I couldn't imagine not having her. WE LOVE YOU KELSEY!!!

She looks like such a big girl sitting up like this.

This was taken on John's bday (which I forgot to post about....sorry babe!! Happy belated birthday in the blog-o-sphere). Can you tell she is going to be a daddy's girl??

Kelsey at 3 months:
- You are eating 7 ounces every 4 hours during the day (total of 4 times)
- You continue to sleep very well - 2 naps during the day and 1 cat nap during the car ride home from daycare. I have to wake you up every morning to get you ready to go (which I hate doing b/c you are so peaceful, but you don't mind one bit).
- Our favorite thing is your smile. You smile ALL the time. The best is when we wake you up in the morning and the first glance you get of mommy or daddy you smile. I can tell you that I am not smiling when I have to get up.
- You have started laughing. Not too much just a handful of times, but it is adorable.
- You are wearing size 1-2 diapers and still in your 0-3 month clothes. Your waist is so little that even some of those pants are big.
- You weigh around 11 lbs 8 ounces.
- You will hold on to things when we put them in your hand. You will sometimes accidentally grab something and hold on for a while (paci, clothes, burp cloth, etc..)
- You love being in the care as long as it is moving. When we stop at a red light you start to fuss a little.
- You are a VERY good traveler....you had your first plane ride and did great!
- You love the TV and sitting up. You have to be able to see what is going on.

Work, Daycare and Flowers

I am going on my fourth week back at work and all is good. It hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be. We have a wonderful lady that is watching Kelsey, which makes it a little easier to leave her. Of course I would rather be with her every second I can, but it is good to have some structure back.

Anyway....my first day back and Kelsey's first day to daycare, John brought home roses for us. They were a late Valentine's Day gift too.

You think she is excited about her flowers??

These are pictures that were taken of her on her first day of daycare.
How sweet is it that she took these for me!
